Greetings From Our Chapter President

Tonya.jpg

Greetings,

Welcome to the official website of the Petersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Although serving the needs of communities has become extremely critical as COVID-19 continues to impact the world, our country, and local communities, the Petersburg Alumnae Chapter continues to serve though this unprecedented time. Our chapter was chartered in 1941 and is committed to public service and the vision that our 22 founders had on the campus of Howard University in 1913. The Petersburg Alumnae Chapter supports the communities of Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, Prince George, Southern Chesterfield and Sussex.

We proudly serve these communities through various programs that align with Delta’s Five Programmatic Thrusts: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement. Our chapter is comprised of educated women of diverse ages and professions. We   provide help and support to our service areas through established programs. We grant scholarships to graduating high school students, participate in educational programs in our area schools and with our youth, collaborate through our virtual physical fitness programs to get and stay in shape, coordinate with medical service agencies to provide health assistance where needed, participate in social activism, and participate in charitable events.

We look forward to continuing to work with other national and local organizations to focus on the needs of our communities. Thank you for visiting our website. As the proud president of our amazing chapter, I encourage you to visit us again, stay on board with our initiatives and join us whenever you can as we continue to “Do the work of Delta.”

Warm Regards,

Tonya Brown-Fletcher

Chapter President
